REVIEW: Classic Romance Read~~One More Valentine by Anne Stuart

Love this book! Anne Stuart has written for so long and has had a number of greatest hits in a variety of sub-genres, but this has been one of my most loved. I only read paranormal when the characters are vivid and relatable–not usually the case for me for most paranormal romances. I’m weirdly picky, but Stuart’s sort-of dead gangster, Rafferty, and his attorney heroine, Helen, really hit all the right notes. Helen works in the Chicago D.A.’s office and Rafferty must go to her to get a friend–also killed in the Valentine’s Day Massacre–released. The plot involves a really bad villain, which is in line with Stuart’s usual romantic suspense bent, but most engrossing to me is that Rafferty comes to save his soul and finally leave his dead/undead limbo through falling deeply and truly in love with Helen. In this world, we’re more likely to have trouble paying the electric building than fighting off murderous hit men from another era. We do, however, gain our release from going-nowhere limbo and find our souls through love. Read One More Valentine by Anne Stuart and fall in love all over again.
